How to Aim Your Shot Correctly to Always Score Goals

Especially when taking penalty kicks, it is important to know how to aim your shot towards a specific area. Essentially, there are three different types of shots.

1. Curve Shot
A curve shot is the best way to score on free kicks or when you are in a tough space. Though they lack power, its accuracy makes up for it.

To take a curve shot, approach the ball from the left or right side, depending on if you are left or right footed. (Left-footers are to the right of the ball, Right-footers are to the left of the ball) Try to shoot the ball with your laces or right above the side of your foot. This should put enough spin on the ball to let it go right in the net.

2. Power Shot
Power shots are low and hard, and are mostly effective when you are inside the box and right in front of the goal.

When you take a power shot, approach the ball head-on and hit it hard with your laces. This will keep the shot hard and low. You may need to approach the ball from a side slightly if you want it to go straight into a bottom corner of the goal. When the ball is aimed toward the low corners of the goal, it is much harder for the goalie to save.

3. Long-Distance Shot
Long-Distance shots are pretty self explanatory and meant to be used outside of the box or farther.

To take a long-distance shot, start a ways away from the ball, and slightly to a specific side. Hit the ball with the front of your laces, and make sure your foot is under the ball much more than normal. This will elevate the ball enough for it to go the distance you want. Change how far you want the shot to go by moving your foot more or less under the ball.

These various shots will rove useful in any game situation. Just remember, make sure you know what type of shot is best where.
